This past weekend was another roller coaster ride for Gator fans, in what is shaping up to be the craziest recruiting season for the Gators. Four star Wide Receiver, Gator lean, James Robinson was caught with marijuana over the weekend.
Coach Mac and his staff continued to pursue the four star recruit after hearing about his citation for marijuana. However, the staff was overruled on Monday by higher up’s in the University and will not allow the Gators to send a letter of intent to Robinson.
This really hurts the Gators recruiting class as the four star recruit seemed all but committed to the Gators. This leaves the Gators with just one receiver commit this class in DaQuon Green, though the Gators are trying to flip Oklahoma commit Charleston Rambo.
Coach Mac did his best for his player James Robinson. He has called multiple teams on behalf of Robinson to try to get him into a program. That is real class right there. As much as I disagree with the Universities decision, it’s nice to see Coach Mac going above and beyond for his players.
The Gators are also not sending letter of intents to the Gaddy brothers. They will now be playing ball in Maryland for sure. That’s another blow to the already lackluster recruiting season so far.
The Gators will need to right the ship and fast losing 3 of their top recruits days before National Signing Day. The Gators once were thought to have the best class signings on National Signing Day.
