Former N.C State commit, three star linebacker Nick Smith from Orlando, was one of a select few to take an official visit to the Swamp this weekend.
The Gators offered the talented linebacker back in December and he was on campus this past weekend to meet with advisers, coaches, players and take a tour of the facilities.
Smith met with Coach Shannon on the trip who said the Gators are in need of young players who can get out their and make plays immediately. That’s exactly what the Gators need since they are losing linebackers Jarrad Davis, Alex Anzalone and Daniel McMillian.
Smith, 6 foot 3 210 linebacker, has the opportunity to come in and play early if he works hard. Smith is announcing his decision on National Signing Day, February 1st and may take a trip to LSU or Louisville in the meantime.
Smith would be a great pickup for the Gators and help propel the recruiting class up the rankings. If you would ask fellow Gators commits Daquon Green or Zach Carter who Smith ends up with, they will tell you he will be playing #SEC ball in the Swamp!
Let’s hope we can seal the deal on Nick Smith.
