Gators head coach Mike White was named 2017 SEC Coach of the Year today. This is an accomplishment that even the great Billy Donovan couldn’t achieve in his time here at the University of Florida until late in his career.
White has done a tremendous job at helping turn around a struggling Gators program that missed the NCAA Tournament two years straight. Florida is heading into the SEC Tournament this weekend with a 24-7 record (14-4 SEC) was third best in the history of the program. The Gators will also likely be a top four seed in this years NCAA Tournament.
Coach White and Coach McElwain have both now been named SEC Coach of the Year in just their second season with the program. The Gator brand continues to get stronger.
Congratulations Coach White on a great year and good luck in the tournaments!
