Coach McElwain delivers again for his players as the University of Florida selected HOK to design a new three-story football operations project and a dining hall for the University’s student-athletes. The new facility will be located near the existing football practice fields, making it easy for student-athletes to access and complete activities.
The new facility will include a strength and conditioning center that includes a cardio balcony, training room, hydrotherapy space and an immersive, 3D hologram training environment. A players’ lounge is adjacent to the team locker room, creating a space for student-athletes to hangout off the field with a nutrition bar, casual meeting spaces and games. The facility will also include a recruiting room.
The project is scheduled to start in December of 2017 and be completed by 2019.
This was a much needed upgrade of the facilities for the Gators. There is no doubt that the new facilities will help improve recruitment as well as players moral while at the University. This was a big get for the team and I am excited to see it.
