Four star Safety, Devon Hunter, has announced via Twitter that he will make his commitment during halftime of IRHS basketball game January 20th.
Hunter will be choosing from six universities, Alabama, Florida, Virginia Tech, Auburn, UNC and Ole Miss.
Hunter has already taken official visits to Virginia Tech and UNC and has scheduled official visits to Florida, Alabama and Auburn. The interesting thing about his commitment timing is that his scheduled visit to Alabama is January 27th, which is a week after his commitment date.
For you Gator fans out there, the University of Florida will get their chance to win over one of the nations best Safeties on January 13. With the recent graduation of Marcus Maye the Gators are in need of more depth at the Safety position.
With Marcell Harris and Nick Washington both leaving Florida next year, the Gators look to add a young talented freshman to continue on the traditions of DBU (Defensive Back University) here at the University of Florida.
With the Gators recent success developing safeties such as Reggie Nelson, Ahmad Black, Matt Elam, Kneau Neal, Marcus Maye, it’s hard to see Hunter going anywhere else.
